Rang to book on the way to site at 5pm to arrive for 8pm, was told we would get the bathroom codes emailed through and never was and was the only reason we paid for a site. Had to leave to find bathrooms, emailed explaining issue and never got a response.
A good place to stop while passing through. The showers were clean. We highly recommend the restaurant – very tasty and good food!
It is what it is. Next to the motorway so a bit noisy. The amenities are quite old but work fine. Nice water pressure and temperature in the showers. The young lady working at the cafeteria was really nice and helpful! 30$ per powered site
Stayed one night nothing has changed since the last 2 comments we only stayed as we need to charge the batteries JW
We‘ve only stayed for one night during our trip to Airlie Beach. The campground was nice to the Main Street, which makes it a little loud at night due to lots of trucks passing through. We paid for a powered site and didn’t book it much in front which was great. The ammenities were okay but could be a little bit cleaner. We didn’t try out the restaurant as it was closed. Good stay for a couple of nights if you‘re looking for a very uncomplicated campground!
Family camping people were very nice and welcoming. The restaurant was unfortunately closed but they can do take away if needed (we didn't try it because of the amount of mozzies outside which wouldn't have allowed us to stay outside our tents). Watch out, there are more mozzies than all the previous places i've been. Also showers and toilets would need a deep cleaning (Big amount of spider webs, spiders,...) + it was really noisy since it's just along the highway !
We stayed for $5 p.p. P shower. Yes, they are warm showers and you can shower as long as you want, BUT it is the most disgusting shower of my life! There are huge spiders everywhere on the ceiling, dead cockroaches on the floor and in the shower, moths, flies, ants. I was finished (as a woman) in 3 minutes. Never again. And for $5 you can at least expect some cleanliness, especially since the woman was online on Facebook when we arrived. If you don't have to, keep driving!
We were kindly received by the lady behind the reception. We paid $ 20 for an 'unpowered' place. After checking in you will receive a code for showering. There is also for a reasonable price, various beer, wine and drinks for Sale. Marlborough is known for its stone chrysoprase, which you can buy. Everything is a bit outdated but clean. There is a freezer, toaster, microwave and a kettle, everything is clean. It is close to an highway, pay attention to the sound where you camp. It is a great place to stay
We paid 20$ for two people on an unpowerd site. Very very old and dirty amenities!!! it's very noisy because the campingground is next to the highway. Would not go again
Good place to stop overnight with very friendly staff and had a choice of any spot we liked. Was that tired the road noise didn’t bother us. $28 for 2 adults and 1 dog. ?
