Nice little spot plus cheap for the family. A friendly family of peacocks come and also say hello. Showers and toilets are clean. The pool is also nice and clean. The dam is just around the corner and looks amazing. Just make sure you bring plenty of food as no shops around at all
This is a great spot here ATM. Dam in the background, mountain views are WOW!!! Get out here and of those main highway's Extremely impressed ?
Great well laid spot in the former construction town for dam build. Good facilities, hot shower & swimming pool. Peacocks to keep company. Info centre on dam. Fees are lower by credit card than cash, via payment machine $8 cash $7 card per person per night
Beautiful spot, great walks and apparently fishing but assumed bait would be sold onsite, it isn't so bring your own and fishing permit required. Closest shop 80km away and bar minimum is stocked. Abundant wildlife and friendly peacocks. $15 per night for powered site and 2 adults. Well worth the drive in.
To get payment for the nights stay. Power available for an extra $5.00 a day. No fires are allowed. The bird life is awesome and you have peacocks and other birds walking around your camp site so don’t leave food unattended. I will highly recommend this place to anyone. We did not book and just arrived and found a site. All sites have power, water and a hard stand. The road is tarred and access is to all vehicles no problem. You need to bring all your food and fuel as there are no shops or cafes. Closest shop and fuel is Ravenswood 80KM away. Also the boat ramp is just down the road. Barra fishing is supposed to be good but I only saw vert large Red claw token while I was there. Some of the other campers confirmed that they had caught good fish in the dam
Good cheap caravan park. We enjoyed our stay here; only a few other campers when we stayed. Dam wall and surrounding landscape impressive. Worth a visit.
It's good value at $5/night per person. If you prefer power then it's an extra $5/night. Plenty of Red Claw as well. Barra when in season. Good assortment of wild-life. Resident free-roaming goats and peacocks. Echidnas, wallabies, dingos, and a very healthy bird population. Unfortunately...... You will also have to accept the snakes and bird-eating spiders. But if I can.... Anyone can. Such beautiful scenery and the sky at night is awesome!
