Don’t go there! The man behind the desk was really rude and unfriendly. We didn’t feel safe at all so decided to go and did not stay there. There are a lot (free) and even better located campsites in and around Townsville that are completely worth it.
We stayed at this campsite for $28 a night for an unpowered site, which was a reasonable price. We set up on a grassy area close to the kitchen, but the site itself was a bit unclean, so we ended up using our own equipment, including a gas cooker. The bathrooms were clean, which was a plus. The campsite is about a 12-minute drive from town, and it’s located next to a road, so it can get a bit loud at times. However, it wasn’t too disruptive, and overall, it was an okay place to stay for the pric
Okay it’s cheap(er) then other places but not worth it. Flees on the toilet, and mostly workers or permanent settlers.
Actually I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews. I mean, you get what you pay for: a basic campground with basic amenities and a basic campkitchen a little bit further out of town close to the highway. BUT it has everything you need and the toilets are clean. I also can't say anything bad about the people here, they were all friendly to me and especially the manager Damien was lovely. As a female solo traveller I felt safe.
Lovely staff, helped us out with a late check in. Very clean, perfect for what we needed
Not the best. But was ok for a night just passing through. Staff lovely and helpful. Facilities were fine.
Good spot, good price and the guy in the reception is very welcoming, bathrooms super clean and men’s bathroom is new! The camper site is close to the road but the road isn’t so busy, so easy going!
Nice spot for few nights!! Clean and good staff. ????
Really nice site with great facilities and pool. Lots of friendly people and the guy who runs it is lovely and helpful.
This place is your cheapest option in Townsville but for unpowered, it’s majorly overpriced for what it is. Ladies amenities outdated but clean however men’s were disgusting. In saying that, they seem to be renovating the men’s side so hopefully soon they’re actually half decent. Camp kitchen is basic and not the cleanest. Half the place is filled with permanent residents living in their rundown vans and shacks, which doesn’t provide the nicest of atmospheres. We also had the luck of staying the same night as some noisy backpackers who played loud music until midnight, so that topped off our great experience.
