Great place to spend 1 or more nights. The campsite is clean and well-equipped, quiet and close to the town center.
Great place! Big spots, friendly personal and clean. We walked to the winery’s on the Shiraz trail and please do not forget to go to the chalk hill winery, which is just around the corner which has live music on Friday’s in summer!
We were spending times in Mc Laren Vale for holidays with my family. The place is quite pretty but I recommend you to move away from here because there’s no kitchen, no water (or really chlorinated) and it’s too noisy (there’re party ...). Staff and owners are unfriendly. Too much backpackers also. Definitely not a good place to spend holidays, the Moana Beach Tourist Park is really better.
This is a lovely park with large lush green grassy sites. Amenities clean. Great area for kids. Huge enclosed camp kitchen area. So close to Coles and lots of great wining and dining options.
Best location! Not sure about the other comments we loved our stay! Camp kitchen is enclosed and out of the cold.
Great location, nice walk into the town and near some of the wineries. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Very run down campsite, the kitchen has no walls, is very old, unfitted and littered with bird droppings. This place was really good in 1980, since it was equipped with pool, tennis courts (carpet) and large toilets and shower block. Unfortunately, since then, hardly anything has been done about it. The carpet on the tennis courts is almost gone, the floodlights broken, the fences holey. But for the floodlight you can still throw in coins and since nowhere is pointed out that it did not work, we have done that too. When we went to the office we were turned down with a flippant "the light shines longer than I am here anymore" and there was no refund. The showers have fixed non-adjustable nozzles at 1.60m altitude. The shower doors are so warped that they are sometimes no longer closable or a very large gap remains through which everything is visible. The open kitchen is the summit of the whole, it is full of birds, of course, put their excrement on the seats, worktop and barbecue plates. Disgusting and hazardous to health! The two refrigerators are very broken, no lights, drawers all broken broken, stink extremely, one moldy. Several times we have the problems addressed, after a week !! Did someone clean it! and then only the fridges not the bird droppings !! In addition, the age-old gas system has a leak, but the employees do not care. We stayed 9 nights because the place is only 5 minutes away from our work but we were tired and are 8 miles further away. I have been traveling through this beautiful country for 10 months and the 'Lakeside Caravan Park' is the worst campground I have ever stayed in due to its value for money. In the area are some really good campgrounds on the same price level or really cheap that actually offer just as much, spares you the lakeside in McLaren Vale! The Lakeside in the name you could also save, the "lake" was dry and we were there in late autumn.
Good campsite. Clean.
It is not at all as expensive as this page shows !! We paid 47 AUD for room with electricity, 3 people. About half the price of what is stated. Fantastic place! Clean and neat everywhere. The one board is Danish.
“Thank you for the wonderful review we are glad that you have enjoyed your stay.”
Very bad. Showers and kitchen are dirty, water smell chlorine so a lot so you never feel clean after shower and can’t cook with it ! Managers are unkindly and there are too much people so you don’t feel well staying here. Prices are very expensive and not the same for everyone !! 38$ for unpowered site in a bad camping. Only the location is good, however you should go somewhere else to enjoy real holidays feeling.
