Really simple campground. We didn't find the showers and toilets and were mistaken the public toilets for it. In the middle of the campground are new toilets and showers. Because we found them too late I can't say if the shower is hot or not. There are only 4 powers sites and they were occupied from people who seem to stay there for a while. 5$ per person and 15 $ for a powered site. There is even shade.

Interesting place with only one camping area.Shelters for campers and caravans. Honesty payment system. Hot showers and flush toilets. Need to be self sufficient here particularly with water.

Great town with very friendly people. Amenities are well maintained. Plenty to see and do. Short drive to lake Torrens. The end of the bitumen is rewarding.

Fantastic amenities block albeit only two very clean spacious toilet and great shower with push button timer ( no coins as included in the great value donation) and a chair, great help as you get older woohoo Absolutely to die for burger and all round great food, fantastic berry smoothie etc at the community hall, open most days and Friday nights where you can take byo and great prices at local bottleO Nice people/ locals but feel like intruders when wanting to just search for opals yourself ( nice they have noodling pit but its just not great ) Just sad not more help and direction where exactly you can search ( even though they say you can go anywhere that theres no markers, its just not clear and doesn’t feel right) would be great to see some green tourist flags or something lol Anyway thanks Andamooka and if you manage the above we will be back in a flash

What an amazing stop! Definitely more of a real feel than coober Pedy. Extremely clean amenities and right next to the opal noodling areas. Make sure you go to the observatory, Leila and Conan were brilliant and let us join them 2 nights in a row to find Opal. Cal the stoner is a must see as well! We planned to stay 2 nights and were there for a week!

Nice place to stop for the night, facilities were good

$3 per person, per night is to be placed in the box near the shower or near the BBQ areas. Please be honest and support the upkeep of these facilities! Powered sites are available at only $10 per night (includes 2 adults). Entry to campground is off Water Way which runs East off Opal Creek Blvd. Large gravel area which is mostly level. No shade. Facilities include a fenced and shaded playground area, BBQs, picnic tables, rubbish and recycling bins, a dump point, skate park, flush toilets and even one long drop, coin operated hot/cold showers ($1 for 4 minutes. Only accepts $1 coins), a wash trough and a clothes line. All facilities are very clean. Toilet/showers are well lit at night. Water is available but just be paid for. Able to have camp fires. BYO wood. At night you can see camp fires dotted on the hills as people cook and warm there houses. There is an off leash dog area next to the playground which has some shade from trees and doggy doo bags available. Public noodling area has been well picked over and I am unsure as to how often it is replenished or renewed. Apparently someone found an opal worth $500 there just last week, or so I am told. We spoke to the couple (Margo and Peter) at the Opal Museum, called Dukes Bottlehouse, about claims etc. They advised us that most areas are fair go, including the side of the road. Any claims are 50x100m and must be clearly marked at all corners, display the claim numbers on metal tags on each corner and some will even say keep out. We definately recommend taking the time to visit the opal museum and speaking to the couple before doing any noodling yourself. Wake up to the calls of the rooster which is housed in the property with all of the old cars, just over the dry creek bed. We didn't see any other animals during our three night stay. There is also an old machinery display at the front of the campgrounds.

Spent three evenings. July 2017.... Great facilities . Two Beautiful new showers ($1 for 3 mins) three Clean modern toilets. ... Playground, skate ramp, new clean BBQ area and plenty of room for all types of camping ... No shade and the ground is gravel. Help keep Andamooka on the tourist trail or it may disappear. ?... Have a campfire at night. Do some noodling for Opals during the day and rest up. Don't forget to leave your DONATION. In the box near the BBQ. Go to Post Office for tourist Information... It's not the Ritz but it's better than some parks we've been to ✅✅✅

Great place heaps of room excellent facilities $1 showers great meals at the tucker box post office has a museum underneath great fun noodling for opals do yourself a favour and take the drive out there ??
