Great views. Track is pretty rough (Early Nov 2019) but with a proper 4WD will be ok, take it easy. There’s a strong breeze off the lake but we were ok in the tent. An adventure to get out there but well worth it. Also coming from Marree, make sure to stop at the Bubbler on the Oodnadatta track.

It’s not for free! You have to buy a permit in Williams Creek. It’s 20$
Road from William Creek is closed from December till March
