2-person self-catering vehicle -$25 AUD per night -poor Optus reception -toilets and showers in open-top cabins -small snack bar -right on the beach -pets allowed -4WD recommended for the route! We have a rear-wheel drive 6m Sprinter and I wouldn't drive the route again, even though it was beautiful there.
Loved every single thing about this place! Bit of a long drive in but that’s what makes it all the more special! Like a slice of heaven on earth 😍 the rock pools at the beach were amazing, absolutely stunning sunsets and the staff were incredible. Cafe has great food and coffee, lovely play area for kiddos and nice big shady sites under trees. We will definitely be returning!!
Great beachside stop. Can have power with water or just water hook up. $35 no power. One of our best stops yet.
Awesome spot book in for 5 nights ended up staying another 5 . Beautiful beach pizza was amazing
Our second visit here and it is a very special place. Took a site in the unpowered northern section for generators but none used. Great cliff top views. Powered section was very busy. Little cafe, coffee ice creams cakes pizzas available . Great walks amongst the rocks. Closing for wet season Oct.
Awesome spot to stay. Please ignore negative reviews as people must not read the site map or signs when they check in at reception to educate themselves on how to get the most out of their experience. Rubbish disposal, dump point, hot showers, flushing toilets, fish cleaning station and washing machines. What else could you want at a campground? Being an especially busy travel year, yeh sometimes facilities will get a bit dirty when hundreds of people use them everyday. A cleaner doesn't stand there all day to pick up after everyone. Sure the dirt track in will get small sand corregations from hundreds of cars driving over it, but that's why we have 4wd's. Venue runs off generators so yeh, appliances such as kettles chew too much power. Queenies and Tuna caught off beach end August. Nature playground for kids with baby animals to see. Rock pools on low tide. Cafe and pizza nights. This is a fantastic place to unwind and relax.
Stopped for two nights 11th July won’t be going back. Powered site put kettle on power kept going off, toilets dirty, no waste bins very disappointed
Loved it, stunning views, cute rock pools, beautiful beach and enjoyed the live music.
We are delighted to be camped here at Barnhill Station. There are powered sites very close to each other under shady tree. We looked at the NO generator camp sites but views were uninspiring but close to beach access. We chose our site in the generator area with views of the spectacular rugged coast. The toilet and shower block at this area are 'rustic' open roofed, but shower is hot. So more of a bushcamping experience. There are only a few washing machines here, So get in early as there is a influx of tourists. Paid for unpowered site is well worth it if you get a good site. We have enjoyed our 2 night stay.
dirty and not maintained very well. Steps going down to the beach in disrepair with a section missing, unsafe. No evidence of cleaning of amenities. Gaps in corrugated sheeting of women’s showers. No rubbish bins anywhere
