A campsite near central Canberra, and the price reflects that. I paid $100 for two nights on an unpowered site because of the peak season. If you’re looking for a powered site during peak season, it costs $75 per night. If you’re staying alone, you’re still charged for two people. Washing and drying each cost almost $8. Overall, it’s not a very luxurious campsite considering the price.
Without electricity we paid $35. Late check-in worked perfectly. The bathrooms and kitchen are further away from the pitches without electricity. There are few showers for the number and one of them was broken for the ladies. Located right on Hauotstrasse it can also be noisy. Wifi didn't work at all in our places. Not even at the tavern.
Unpowered site is a bit expensive but other than that the campground was okay! Old but clean amenities, flat sites, staff was friendly, tavern directly next to it. Nothing to complain about other than the price.
I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. It is the worst park we have stayed at. Cold showers in a Canberra winter isn't acceptable. I started here about 45 years ago and it was very good but I don't think they have done any maintenance since then, it is very run down.
Not worth the 35$ !! Spot is not nice, amenities are good but not very clean, bbq doesn't work when we were I didn't recommend
Definitely would not recommend this campground. Paid 35$ unpowered for two people - way too much. Staff is very unfriendly Bathrooms - old but clean BBQ - Out of order Kitchen - very very far away from the unpowered sites and extremely bad equipped. We asked for the wifi password. The woman at the reception didn’t know it and she couldn’t find it. And she hadn’t time to look for it because it was Saturday and they close at 3pm and then she goes home. All in all we would not recommend this campground.
Bookeda motorhome site with pad for two nights online. When we arrived we were informed that we were assigned a dirt tent site no. 165 because the pad sites were full. When I challenged them they informed me the website has a hiccup that you even though you select pad site, it books it as a camping/tent site. When we arrived at our site it was already taken by a couple that were advised to park wherever they liked so we had no choice but to occupy the adjacent site. It was not level for our rig, and the site was filthy dirty and all dirt. Quite an uphill climb to the toilets foraged persons. We asked for our money back but we’re informed that with online bookings there is no refund. The staff were extremely rude and when I returned to the office 3 minutes later to get my receipt she locked the door on me. If you stay here, make sure you phone them to book. Don’t do it online because you won’t get what you asked for.
I stayed at this site for 6mths it was sad to experience the lifeless place it is. The price is ridiculous.. $ 200 per week.. For a camper. The power kept turning if use two things at once. Hot water shower runs cold.. I definitely can't recommend..
Staff were really cold and rude, they almost made me feel like a nuisance for giving them my business. The office closes at 3 every day and doesn't open on Sundays, which is the only place you can buy tokens for the laundry machines. The tent camping area is literally right next to a freeway and a massive business complex, absolutely no privacy or peace. Showers go cold after 5 minutes, and at almost $40 a night for an unpowered site it's a waste of cash and time.
Friendly stuff, nice unpowered campgrounds. Campkitchen is very far from the unpowered sites and there are no tables or chairs to eat at the kitchen. The amenities are clean but you have no shelf for deposing your things in the shower, everything is getting wet while showering. Don't like it.
