The price is $7.50. The grounds are beautiful, in full bloom, with four long and pleasant play areas of average difficulty. Unfortunately, access to the water feature was closed.
We couldn’t stay there. Didn’t know you have to book beforehand.
Paid $7.25 and rode in on a bicycle, lol. Road to top of national park is sealed, becomes unsealed for 80% of drive to campground. Looked like a 2-W drive could probably make it if road is dry and driver patient. Worst surface is 1 km from camp, did not ride past it. Bathroom serviceable, no running water, but could probably filter some from nearby creek if needed. Peaceful and quiet. Nearby cultural circuit and Mook Mook hikes both worth doing.
Visited in April 2024. Most of the road is bitumen apart from the last 8km. Yes it’s rough but we got down with no damage in our van and saw a few cars down there also. Just go slowly and it’s fine. We were hoping to go further on to rainbow falls but the road was too badly rutted for us to attempt beyond the campsite. Nice walk from the campsite though!
Dirt road with heavy ruts. Too much for me.
Very clean, and quiet but I would only recommend it for 4 WD
Great camping site. It's clean and well organized. You have enough of space between camp site. Need to book online, there is no signal over there. I recommend
Beautiful campsite! 2 short walks leave from the camping, rainbow waterfalls is 18 km return. You can also drive there. Clean and tidy campsites, must book online!
Love Blackdown Tablelands! You can go hiking, drive the 4wd track or take a drive to the lookout which has some amazing views of the National Park and surrounding countryside. And best of all, Rainbow Falls. It's a short hike with some slightly steep steps going down to it but it is well worth the walk (plus there are some beautiful views of the cliffs on the way). Campsites are always tidy, has drop toilets but no showers and you must take your own firewood. Also beware of those pesky currawong - don't leave food on the tables or rubbish bags in the open.. Smart little birdies took off with a tub of butter and some eggs.
Beautiful lookout .. 8 kms over in the gravel to get to the camp that requires a permit for the National Park !! But the view is worth the trip !!
