Great place to visit, even if you don’t camp here. Large abandoned site with a car cemetery and several abandoned buildings that you can explore. It’s 14km off the main road so it’s very isolated and if you camp in a tent it can be quiet scary at night. We saw a Dingo and a brown snake so be aware. Water and toilets available.

Awesome place to stop overnight, great homestead and amazing cave. We were the only ones there until we bumped into Luke from Aussie Salvage Squad camping overnight in the Homestead. Great guy, as crazy and funny as the show. PS the blowhole is right where the sign is, don’t let the arrows confuse you ?

Great place to visit. We took our caravan up the bumpy road and was surprised to find several other caravans up here camping. Awesome history of the old highway. The photo at the entrance is not of the original owners They are people from the Eucla Telegraph Station. The homestead is built of Railway sleepers and iron rail tracks. The car wrecks are a great. Let’s hope that the National Parks change the photo to the people who built the house and farmed the land, the Gurney family. We were lucky enough to meet 3 of the Gurney children when we visited. Awesome place with great history.

Worth the bumpy 14 kim into interesting site . Drop toilet a bonus . Used a bedroom in house with own bedding. Just wish people would take there own rubbish .Thanks for the opportunity.

Stayed there last night , beautiful spot , the road to get there is a bit bumpy but made it with my 2wd station wagon- there is a rainwater tank and a drop toilet also heaps of old rusty cars to look at - super quiete, we stayed in tents was a bit cold but still made it ?

Free and beautiful abandoned homestead, catch the gravel road from the 88th km of Eyre hgw (bit rocky but really okay by dry weather), so if you wanna discover and take amazing pix this is your place, drop toilet and rain water from a tank and nobody around !

Very interesting old homestead. Lovely old cars to explore, interesting buildings, found the blowhole , about 1km north of the homestead, and the caves, about 6 kms west past shearing sheds.

We're sat under the porch of the Koonalda homestead as I write this! We have the whole place to ourselves and Bernie is even taking the front bedroom! A remarkable destination but not for the faint hearted! If you're looking for adventure and to experience the real Aussie outback with the wonderful bonus of the car graveyard then this is your haven! Loved our stay and worth the trek along the dirt track.
