The signs are kinda confusing especially around the university. The stairs were closed, so I had to find a way around. Long walk, took all day, but got to see a lot of different places around Auckland!
Very disappointed by this hike in auckland which is very badly indicated !!
Amazing walk. I suggest to take the train and start from Onehunga and walk toward the wharf, this part is definitely the most beautiful. Unfortunately the reception didn't have a map and the map that the visitor centre can provide is a very poor quality version of the one that you can download online but you can't read the name of the streets. So I suggest to download the online version where you can at least read the few street that they indicate. In many part the way is not clearly indicated we lost the "proper path" few times.
Awesome day out in A-town! My tip would be to start walking from Onehunga (took the bus out to the start) and back to the Viaduct. This is the most interesting part of the walk!
This is no easy 10 mile walk. There are ups and downs, some confusion as to where the trail actually is, and you can easily get caught in one of Auckland's surprise rain showers. That being said, there are some really amazing views, parks, and trees you'll see on this trek. Mount Eden and One Tree Hill are active volcanoes...
What a great walk! The only complaint I have is there are a few places where the signage could be better.
