Nice track from Car park to Powell hut. (4hours) new hut and great sunrise. Then from Powell hut to Jumbo hut 3,5hours. Was pretty windy ? and cloudy. Cozy small hut with 20 beds. (12 people while we’ve been there, and can’t really move or sit next to the table. (Really small table max for 7-8 people) windy and raining during a night but sunrise was again great ? and then 3,5 h back to car park. We enjoyed because wasn’t that many people but when we came back to car park on Saturday afternoon... (very busy) better to choose week instead on weekend :)

Mt Holdsworth/ Jumbo circuit about 12 hours total walking although plenty of people with day sacks doing the loop in a day we spent 3 days including the Powell hut and jumbo hut in our loop. Fantastic middle day walking along the ridge with views out to the Kapiti and east coast. Most South Island like bit of the north island! Like a mini Kepler!
