Superb exceptional reserve. Loved every minute of it despite the rain. Highly recommended.

“We hope you enjoyed your picnic! Thank you for your review :)”
Such a great place! Definitely do the feeding tour
“We're glad you enjoyed the Feed Out Tour. Thank you for your review :)”
Just a great place to spend the day! Make sure you arrive for 11am, we could follow the person who fed the animals and who answered all our questions, almost a small guided tour at no extra charge! Kiwis are adorable! I recommend 100%
“Thank you for your review. Visitors can book onto our Feed Out Tour which starts at 11am. It is $12 for adults and $8 for children.”
Most dissapointing place we visited in NZ - and we visited a lot places. Only feeding the ducks was funny, but why should you pay 11 (9 NZ$ pP plus 2 NZ$ for duck food) for something which you can do at any lake for free?
“It is a shame that you thought so as most visitors to our Reserve enjoy meeting our native wildlife in the walk-through aviaries, along with the ducks and exploring the forest. Ngā Manu is a charitable trust and all admissions support our wildlife and conservation efforts. The bags of duck food that we sell at our counter provide a nutritious meal for our waterfowl (picnic food will make them sick) and the $2 per bag charge covers our costs while making a little profit to support our wildlife. Since Covid 19 we have lowered all our admissions prices to make visiting more affordable for all ages. Our Feed Out Tours and Kiwi Night Encounters provide wonderful experiences with our native wildlife.”
Beautiful place. Value for money pays off to 100%. Very informative and great for children. It has plenty of seating during the walk and you can buy for 2 Doller duck food and feed this Dan. That was just a lot of fun. It has so many bird species. This is a real insider tip :) I would go back immediately :)
“That is wonderful to hear - thank you for writing this lovely review for us. We hope you are able to make it back into New Zealand in the future. Enjoy the rest of your travels :)”
The most beautiful place to see rare birds. We enter the enclosures and we are close to them! It was open at 9:30, and at 11am they feed the birds and do not make an attraction. We had the chance to be there and see kiwis, keas, kakas and kakariki especially in full activity! The park is very nice too and the staff very courteous, we would like to spend the day!
“Thank you for this lovely review. We are glad you got to see so many of our birds on your visit during the Feed Out Tour. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in New Zealand :)”
A wonderfully well-kept area, which is absolutely worth the money. It is recommended at 11 oclock the feeding tour of the different birds. You get very close to u receives plenty of information through the staff. Absorbent highlight: the feeding of the two kiwis in the night house, which one can observe so actively. Also a tour of the rest of the park is very impressive !!!
“It sounds like you had a great visit - we are glad you enjoyed the Feed Out Tour and got a good view of the kiwi. Thank you for this review :)”
A very nice day. The places are beautiful and the staff very friendly. We saw the kiwis
“Thank you for your review - we are glad you found our staff friendly and were able to see the kiwi :)”
A nice day for a family outing,a bit expensive but ok for the money
“We are glad you enjoyed your day out. Nga Manu is a charitable trust dedicated to the conservation and preservation of our native flora and fauna, playing an important role in wildlife programmes, research and education. Our admission charges directly support the Nga Manu Trust so thank for visiting!”
