Great spot right on the beach. Across the street takeout Indian food which was great. Watching the sunset!

Good freedom camp for the night. Just 1 site for self contained vehicles on the first car park where we stayed. Direct access to the beach, toilets and outdoor shower not too far.

On this specific car park, there is only one self-contained vehicle per night permitted. On the car park next to it, there are two self-contained vehicles per night permitted. And I think there is one more car park, but I didn’t go there to check how many cars are allowed. The location is beautiful, though, and definitely worth it if you manage to get a spot.

At 6 p.m. all places are full or overcrowded. We won't take the risk of a $400 fine.

Excellent views although gets quite windy so be prepared to be rocked to sleep, even in a large vehicle. We had a 6 berth motorhome and it still rocked most of the night. Open space so take safety precautions if you have a family.

Toilet is being refurbished and there is not other to replace it for the time being. This means no toilet for all three free camping spots along this section. We suggest going to the Marine Gardens a little further south - a great spot and Next to the restaurant, there are toilets.

Great little park for a smaller van, close to an amazing Mexican restaurant too!

Pleasant place 2 steps from the meeting point for Kapiti Island. Only 1 place I believe. WC closed at night. Restaurant bars nearby

252 steps to the toilet. Quite well sheltered from the wind. Small amount of road noise but mainly only small vehicles. Not suitable for the longer rigs.

Great spot, super close to everything and public toilets not too far away. A little noisy at one point but would use spot again.
