Beutiful spot. Was quiet and a awesome view. Stated 2 campers only. 5 stayed the night with no issues
The freedom sign is there now. Max 2 campers. Toilets were open at 4pm and clean. Easy access from there to beach. I didnt stay as I needed to be a bit further north but had a nice beach walk
Amazing Place, its one of the most beautiful freecamps i have ever been. Beautiful Beach with a view on the island. The sign says 3 vans per night, there stayed around 10 vans with locals too, was no problem on this night
camp itself is ok but they locked the bathroom and the other nearest ones well before it went dark
The Freedom Camping Sign is gone, so we didn't stay for the night. The toilet is fine, spacious flush toilet, good 5min walk. There were some campers when we arrived.
Basic parking spot with grass verge to camp out on for one night, 24 hour limit. Whitebaiting seems to be the attraction for locals, not much else going on. Nice dune path starting near the toilets, beautiful outlook to Kapiti Island. Dogs must be on leash at all times. No tents, only two self-contained vehicles permitted.
Stayed here one night. Strict regulations in place shown on the sign. 3 vans stayed the night and we had no issues. Very quiet place. Beautiful beach nearby. Toilets locked after dark. They are across the bridge and to the left. No showers. Must be self contained.
Lovely peaceful spot on the way down to Wellington. No facilities so SC is a must. Lovely beach to walk down and was quiet with just a few other campers when we were there.
Beautiful spot but very windy, only one other camper there which as a solo female traveller can make me feel a little unsafe but they seemed okay. Woke up to a lot of construction noise in the morning which lasted all day as they were digging up the beach with massive diggers and there were lots of people walking back and forward. Not very relaxing but I see it could be nice.
Beautiful spot. No toilets open overnight (after ca 19.00) within 1 km radius. There seems to be a large bus set up on permanent camp here, don’t let it confuse you. Only allowed 2 self-contained vehicles here in addition to that.
