The comment from 03.01.2017 describe it very good. The Cafe only opens at saturday and sunday from 11 am till 5pm. Nice place for a few chill out houres.

Beautiful bay! Nice hike.

It's defenetly not a must do thing! The road to the beach is really narrow and small. So if you want to drive with a big campervan or SUV it can be very stressfull die your driver. The beach is nothing special. Smells a lot after fish. The best time you should go there is for sunset. You defeneed good weather. We didn't Walk the track. We just walked a little bit around the waterfront and made some nice pictures at the rocks.

Nice beach where you can find beautiful shells, but not very well taken care of. Lots of rubbish, public bathrooms in horrible condition and we found a dead rotting seal and (even worse because someone must have put it there) a dead rotting sheep. Gross!

Now my favorite walk around Wellington. Went on a sunny winter Sunday and was just the perfect weather. I would recommend going up the hills first and than return via beach. Walking 1.4 km just up up up was exhausting. But it's still worth. Stunning views, we grabbed some food and enjoyed the sunset. You see all the way out to the south island too. Definitely going back. Just watch out with big caravans, street is narrow towards the beach. And don't go after a really rainy day. Might be very slippery
