No water and dirty Not worth it
Geyser is located directly above the spa area, at the top of the park. On weekends, the spa is usually fully booked. So either reserve in advance or as we use the public swimming pool. (This is a few feet away.) 32 degrees warm water for $ 6, $ 2 extra costs the spa corner with 35 degrees warm water. We had a lot of fun with our kids (1/2 & 3)!
The location of the geyser and water pool were not accurate. They are inside the park whicj is great for picnic. The foot bath was disappointing, full of algae. There is also a nice small swimming-pool.
Be patient, the geysir blows every 40 mins
The geysir blows every 40 mins.
Beautiful park and historic buildings, quite a special surprise in this small NZ town. A range of short and long hikes leave from the domain near the geyser. The loop track up to Wakatipu Lookout and back via Horsemanship Track takes 90 mins with great views from the lookout. The longer and steeper track up Mt Te Aroha will test your fitness but is definitely worth doing once. We (64 and 70) managed it over five and half hours. A soak in the hot spa awaits at the end!
Most disappointing geyser in the world
Miniminimini geyser and not even a natural one. Unfortunately the footbath wasn't that clean.
Nice relaxing family domain with Edwardian spas & Museum also bush walks as long of as short as you wish.
Nice for a family picnic. Not worth a detour.
