I’m part of a group of 8+ older guys who have been camping at Blackgate twice a year for the last 8-9 years. You don’t need to have a 4wd however it’s a good idea in a group to have at least one 4wd if the weather is wet. There are two eco-toilets (long drop) which aren’t the cleanest. Take your own toilet paper. Take your own drinking water. Since the road slip at Monaghans Bluff it is a very quiet place to camp. There are deer, kangaroos, wild goats & occasionally wild pigs to see. There’s a fair bit of dirt road but is graded occasionally.
