Closed due a huge flood that destroyed everything. The closest one is Coopernook forest.the flood took everything away( toilet, bbb, etc)
9th June 2025 - this campsite is closed!
Had an overnight, barbies lookin they're not real serviced at the moment, not workin. Technical only self contained vehicles are supposed to park at the small grassy field before the real car park. But I had a night there with my roof top tent, all quiet all good. Sometimes you see some homeless camping in a tent next to the field but they're looking harmless
Limited overnight camping space, but lovely place at a river with fishing spots. The highlight was definitely the fruit bats (thousands of them!) :)
This was cool. Beside the lake, bbqs, drinking water. Definitely do the walking trail beside. The bats were amazing. A man came by with some info about Wingham and there is a donation box on-site. Bathrooms a little rough, otherwise great!
great spot to see flying foxes!
Der beste Spot !!! Toiletten bbq und ein Steg zum See ! Alles was man braucht ! Hunderte Fledermäuse am Abend ! Wow
It's open again! Very nicely laid out, right on the water, toilets are clean but were closed from about 10 p.m., open again in the morning. A man came by and gave us brochures about the area, a donation for the overnight stay is desired, there is a donation box for that. In the evening the flying foxes / bats offer a real spectacle in the sky, it is worth walking through the adjacent rainforest.
