Lovely spot out by the old reservoir. Plenty of other campers around, so felt safe. Could get very muddy in the wet, but was all dry when we were there
was really looking forward to staying here. past through a few years ago. had to cut our stay short due to a few motorbike riders doing burnouts in my camp, destroying property and terrorising our children so they had to spend a day in the caravan for the day to keep them safe. would not recommend for families or vulnerable people. the mining town has lost its charm. wouldn't recommend staying here.
very disappointed.... stayed for three days and on the second day had a run in with local trail bike riders..... ask them to be a bit more fare about where they were riding as they were riding in and out of people's camps kicking up dust allover the camps.... after asking for them to be fare .. things got worse as they would return to the lake the next day and started to harass a camp with small children and a camp of retirees...this was appalling and I will advise anyone thinking of staying in Cobar to think again...
Super nice spot, really quiet, a lot of space and absolutely beautiful.
Quiet and relaxing arrived on a Tuesday, stayed a few nights, grassy areas around the shorelines, we camped the opposite side to the common area across the dam with easy access, short dirt road in, a must stay indeed.
Kids from the town came by and put some music as loud as possible whole night as they want to show how bogan they are! I will suggest different place to sleep if you can avoid
Wonderful spot by the reservoir. Short red dirt track, accessible by 2WD (sneakily). No facilities but what a great, quiet, lovely place. Fantastic sunsets, and we were lucky enough to get a big full moon rising over the reservoir!
This is down a red dirt road
Suitable for SC LV only. Top spot by the water
