This review is for the official rest area ~10 km south of here, which isn’t on CamperMate for some reason. Fantastic location, trees, nice view, sheltered from the wind, access to toilets, non-potable water, and decent cell coverage. The “Telstra tower layby” is pretty much just a parking bay with a picnic table—I’d only stay here if the other site is completely full.

As mentioned, try the spot 10 kms south. Has all the bells and whistles plus deep off road parking and 2 bars on 4G.

Quite large stopping bay with picnic tables and dustbins on both sides of the road. No toilets. Ok for one night. We‘d recommend to go to the area 10km to the south if you can.

Get there early as it filles up quick can be noisy if mine trucks are hauling ore from mines north of here
