I found the late reservation difficult, and the toilet for man I couldn’t find. Its all very old en looks more on a farm than on a Big4 campsite.😡
Registration was straightforward, the site is rather dated, the pitches are sloping, not really grass – the soil is riddled with clay, the kitchen is very basic – an open shed, the sanitary facilities are not what you'd expect from a Big Four campsite, the laundry room is hidden in an old farmhouse, one night is okay, but no more than that, we'll probably leave again soon.
Okay for overnight stay, but generally scruffy.
Great for a night stop when travelling to Kangaroo Island. Slight slope. Facilities ok
There is a nearly new clean WC-/Dush-Block. Everything is really ok for staying
Was fine for one night after the ferry from Kangaroo Island; uncomplicated booking via machine if you arrive late; Pitch a little sloping; Kitchen is just a shack, washrooms were good
Does not feel like a Big4…..We stayed in the Cobblestone Keep, one of the accommodation options other than camping. It really needs some love. It wasn’t very clean (cobwebs etc), a DVD player but no DVD’s, difficult to get mobile data. However besides the birds, it was lovely and quiet, lots of bird life including Fairy Wrens. The owners/staff are always away cleaning or trying to maintain the place, it is hard to find someone in reception. The place has a lot of potential and is close by to other lovely places such as Normanville and Rapid Bay.
Does the job, not more than that. We unfortunately dis not meet the staff as everything was DOY. This might have changed our experience.
We stayed here after an early evening Ferry from KI. Nearly hit a Roo driving up from the Ferry, so happy to stay here the night versus risking a drive and a possible altercation with another Roo. Self checkin (24/7) worked well for after hours arrival. Paid for the night on a Powered Drive Thru Site. Showers are “rustic” but hey, they worked. Would stay again.
One big dirt patch. We paid $33 for a unallocated unpowered site which wasn’t flat. There’s around 3 trickle showers to choose from. It’s also full of cockatoos, so expect loud noise late night and early mornings. Only positive is it’s next to the ferry for kangaroo island.
