You can’t find anything better than this place. Nestled amongst gum trees with lots of open areas to park your caravan and the sounds of nature echoing in the background. To reach this place you need to enter closed farm gates which are clearly marked Cockatoo Lake. There were 4 others here already and more slowly rolling in. This is definitely a must stop overnight stay or longer. Beautiful scenery.
You enter through a closed gate. Do make sure that you close it after you. It was very wet when we arrived and most of the sites were under water. However we found a higher site near the toilet block. The entire place was very clean and tidy, the toilet look almost new. Plenty of bins for rubbish. It’s very quiet and there were only four other camper’s in the park. Well worth a stop over. The road in is 12km of paved road but it’s narrow. The last section is dirt but very smooth.
Very nice place by the lake in the quiet many places Two recent clean toilets A water pipe Garbage On the way you have to access by the small path by opening the barrier (see photo) Donation box
Perfect spot. Water low. Drive to the right and you can have a whole area to yourself.
Excellent spot for all types of vans, tents and campers We camped here for Australia Day ( Monday ) and we had it all to ourselves, except for the grazing sheep and the hundreds of corella’s Hidden Jem just 11 km off the highway Drop toilets were clean and relatively new Phone reception was good (Telstra) internet was hit and miss
Note: This is a donation camp. We paid $10. What a gem! Wake up to the waterfrontage!! it’s 12 klms off the highway and the last 4 or so are dirt but only a few potholes and no corrugating. Toilets are clean and well appointed. (Ignoring the bugs)! Although the toilets had plenty of bugs our magnetic screens kept them out. So quiet last night we noticed the inverter in the trailer running which went never noticed before! Worth the diversion off the bitumen! Very weak phone signal.
Beautiful campsite by the lake. Flushable toilet, unisex. Few fire bits. Donations by the entrance of the lake. Pets are welcome on a lease. Little phone signal.
Very nice place. Clean flushed toilet, beautiful view and Dog friendly.
Great spot. Water high. A bit muddy but still able to camp on the high ground. Small playground (slide and bars).
Great place to stay. Plenty room, accessible, one toilet and plenty rubbish bins. Cockatoos are pretty loud though.
