Apex Beach is absolutely stunning. One of the best river beaches around.

Enjoyed the Riverside camping. Great sandy beach access to the river. No toilets or tables here. Phone coverage is available. Vehicle access could be difficult after rain.

Very bad road, lots of potholes, advise 4 wheel drive only, also traffic noise From motorway

If there has been a couple days rain I would be a bit cautious, there are a few spots where you may get stuck, if you have a 4x4 it won't be an issue. But I have a normal sedan, it was wet, I got through with a van (just). It's a beautiful river beach. Walk the track before you try, stop before the train line and walk the track first, it will take you 15 minutes each way but it's worth it.
