Dont use the campermates map ping, search Coopers Creek Campground on Google Maps. Plenty of firepits, but sites are all fairly close with no physical barriers. Very popular on weekends with a large day visitor area, but weekdays are great. Drop toilets were clean with hand sanitiser outside, but no water available other than the creek
As per previous comment… do not use Campermate directions to this camp… when you travel to Walhalla turn at the 2.4km sign only. Sleep grade in but worth it when you get here . Had 19’ caravan and all good 👍
Beautiful spot. The directions from CamperMate took me to a very bad 4WD road which couldn’t lead to the campground. Ultimately, coopers creek reserve using google maps worked to reach the place.
Great spot. Patchy 4g reception
Campground 2 closed from Kings birthday until weekend after Melbourne Cup. Campground 1 open but more of a rest area, only gravel camping areas. Beautiful spot and definitely one to visit in the summer when campground 2 is open!
Just glorious, couldn’t recommend enough. Looks like it would get very busy over the peak season. Just stunning.
Beautiful camping! Recommended
Stayed Tuesday 9th March. Lovely grassy area on the Thomson river that’s great for swimming. We stayed at campground 2. Sectioned campsites each with a fire pit and the drop toilets were cleaned daily. Walking along the river edge there was poo and paper in lots of places, disgusting and disappointing.
Beautiful campsite along river and surrounding hills. Loved our weekend here. You can take a dip in the water. There are fire pits and toilets are good.
Hidden Gem! The funding that went into this wonderful campsite shows, seems very popular with the locals and you can see why. Two seperate sites just up past the river. Drop toilets are great, the site is well kept and tidy and your nicely tucked away down into the bush. Just outside of Walhalla. Doable in just about any car, although it's a decent descent into camp. Beautiful river Highly recommend!
