Quite a lot of people there but it was quiet and calm. The beach is a short walk and I had it to myself. I didn't find the toilets.
Beach is mega but the camping is small and very busy and veryyyy loud with screaming adults and speakers! A few permanents who’ve cut down trees, burning their rubbish etc. Single toilet that’s is so rough it makes you consider doing a wildie. They’re a proper grumpy old man who’s happy to scream at you if you do more an 1 kph over the signed 10. Id go further up to Pettmens, much more pleasant.
The northern part of the campground is currently closed with roadworkers working on it. There’s still a few good spots to camp on. No permanent campers, we were alone after the roadwork finished around 6pm
Great spot and beautiful beach. However, extremely packed during peak holiday.
Great location, unfortunately very busy and no room to stay. Not ideal for large (25ft) caravan or 2WD.
Great campsite. Other campers were friendly. Permanent that was there was chatty. Gave us a great conversation on local history. Drop toilet and a walk over the dunes to the beautiful beach. Take your own firewood if staying here. Sad to see others had cut trees previously. Yarram is only 20 min away to go buy some.
Perfect located spot. Too many “permanent” campers here, like a local community with a “local only cult atmosphere”. People we have spoken to had been here for months on end without leaving.. Definitely need some rules on stay lengths to enable others to enjoy the area!
Great spot right near the beach. There's a few flies and mozzies about but it's not too bad. Beautiful stretch of beach. Gravel road in which was pretty smooth and a bit bumpy getting to the end of the site but the 2wd mitsi van made short work of it.
This place was great walk a little distance and you are on the beach. It’s not particularly big area and to the left when you drive in there are pot holes but if you take it slow you can easily get through it dry in 2WD. Or just stay to the right hand side. Was told by locals this gets full really fast in summer with locals putting their caravans here weeks in advance ‘reserving spots’ perhaps just good in the off season. Toilet was pretty gross unusable.
There was 5km of gravel road to get there that was very bumpy. When you get there you can either go right or left. We couldn’t access any camping spots on the left because the road was full of huge potholes not suitable for a 2wd. There were a few spots on the right that we could have got to but they were taken so we turned around and went to a different campsite.
