The access road is closed.
Nice secluded spot with plenty of spaces. Toilets were good and stocked well.
The campsite is easy to reach from the A8. The last 3km are gravel road which is also easy to drive with 2WD. The campground is huge and is in the middle of nature. A fox, many kangaroos, wallabies, lizards, rabbits, emus and numerous birds came through the camp. The starry sky was also very impressive. We can only recommend the campsite!
Great camp, huge flat areas lots of space. Toilets are standard campsite long drops, plenty of space for fires. Access is gravel road but well graded
Friday 21/02/20, we got to the site around 6.30pm and no one around. We went to the end camp and even crossing the boundary as there is a track that allowed to pass. The camp site located 12 km from the mainroad with last 4km unseal road. Unseal road seem well maintained so any vehicles easily to go through. Several dry toilet around the site with several rolls of toilet paper - seem the ranger do toping up everyday. Plenty big trees with good shade underneath. Woods bbq areas every 50m. Definitely camp that u should to stay.
Beautiful atmosphere, great location right at the entrance to the Little Desert with plenty of hiking tracks starting right at the campsite. Huge campsite with lots of space, but yet we were completely alone. No other ppl, but lots of very annoying and aggressive flies and bees.
Huge, grassy space! A lovely campsite to kick off our 5 week camping adventure!! We were 1 of 3 cars there, but felt very cozy and safe. Chilly in winter, but that’s a given. Nikki ?? & Pike ???????
Such a nic camp but too many flyes. :( we left because of them. :D

It is one of our 2 best free camps on the Melbourne - Adelaide run. It's about 15km off the main road with the last few dirt, but in any weather it suits 2WD and big rigs. Rarely is there anyone else here and it would fit dozens of sites. Campfires, level, firewood is around but you may need to walk for it when it's busy. Phone works fine. Well worth a couple of nights here. Bring everything, leave nothing. FYI, the other favorite free camp on this run is Greenhills at Ararat.
