This area has deteriorated in the past 5 years.People are urinating inside the Boab, chains are missing, that surround the Boab.Sadly disrespectful people destroy nature by engraving their names.Peaceful area, impacted by irresponsible persons.Surely, pick up the dog poo and rubbish when you ,leave. The Boab is probably over 500 years old, would be great to have an information board depicting the Boabs age etc,
Good stop over quiet for a roadside camp
Lovely shady rest area. The Boab has such character, it’s beautiful.
A very quiet night alongside the big boab tree. It is a shame people feel the need to carve their name. But, a cool night. Not many bugs. No amenities.
Lovely tree to have a meal under. Thou, I think some simple signage to deter people from carving their name in the tree and/or using the rest stop as a toilet (as there aren’t any facilities as such) is recommended.
Beautiful baobab tree giving character to the rest area, really nice and cozy! But ffs stop carving your f name that no one in the world cares about (really, has anybody ever been like "oh man Mike was here in 2014, that s amazing, I d love to meet that Mike dude!") and pick up your trash J&A ??
Stopped for lunch yesterday and was disgusted with some of my fellow travellers. When it says it is for self contained vehicles it means you must at least have a toilet maybe a shower. Most countries in the world you have to pick up your dog's sh*t however people are just sh*tting and leaving toilet paper everywhere. Have come you can't take yours away in a plastic bag and put it in a bin. Those who bring in drink bottles and cans and then leave the empty ones behind well pure laziness. Due to the smell and the flies it was very hard to eat our sandwich. Could not enjoy the lovely tree. Pick up your act or all these places will close. You know who you are. .
Good place for a night. We have a loooong night thank's to the big shadow of the boab. Some stupid people write their names on the tree, useless. Enjoy your stay and please keep our rubbish ?? Fluffy Kookas
I'm in love with this tree. It's probably thousands of years old. And then some terrible idiots go and carve their names in it. Still it is old and dignified and beautiful and your inner child will feel an urge to climb into its loving arms.
Nice rest area. We had dinner underneath the boab tree which was quite funny. It's kind of an attraction with the rest area which is good.
