$25 per night in Rotorua is a bargain!! Not 5* but for the money you're paying it's 100% worth it
Bus stop 2 mins round the corner only $3.10 to get to rotorua or $7 ish for return. Campsite itself is cute. Showers are ok and as people said toilet areas in general were fine. They don’t get checked or cleaned at all so it’s everyone looking after it themselves which is fine but there was no soap for the last two days we were there. Wi-Fi wasn’t great and didn’t reach us well and we were quite close to reception. Kitchen & games room a bit gross. This felt like a free site not a $25 a night
Online booking does not work but can call by phone. No deposit required. At $20 for powerd site and use of facilities (showers, toilet, cooking etc) pretty good deal compared to other places in rotorua. Kayaks are free to use. Friendly staff and quiet neighbors. Bus to CBD is only 15 min walk and around $2 one way Not sure if it was just my time of year but, all the neighborhood dogs would start barking at around 11pm for a minute. Not loud, just noticeable. Not sure why.
Office closes at 5 and no place to book online.
Facilities a bit dated but weren’t dirty. $2 per wash load & $4 for dryer. Seems to be some people staying permanently but wasn’t bothered by them. Good as a solo traveller as only $25 a night as a solo traveller with or without power. Great base if heading in to Rotorua. WiFi was a great perk as well.
Not the most polished but it's alright 25 per person
Good place to stay if heading to Rotorua, we had a dump station next to our spot, very convenient. Decent facilities also.
We spontaneously arrived on June 24, 2025. The office was open, and we were able to get a spot. The shower and toilet were clean. The kitchen appliances are a bit dated. If you use dishes from there, rinse them briefly first. We were able to do laundry for $2 NZ and use the dryer for $4 NZ, which we bought in coins beforehand. It's a 5-minute drive to the Maori Village.
Great welcome, really nice place, self-service kayak for this trip on the river, 20 per person with the current, perfect!
Not very clean, but cheap $20 per adult.
