The location is good – but the kitchen has no tools. Hot water in the shower is provided for 8 minutes, then stop for 3 minutes, too painful for the winter. The lady has only one hair blowing, and it only takes 5 seconds, and everyone is surprised.
Great views but had some negatives Bathroom floors were constantly flooded, even in the toilet cubicles Kitchen had no utensils Wifi is very poor
“Thanks for the feedback! The great views are definitely one of the perks of our little corner of the world. You are quite correct about the kitchen utensils; in the communal kitchens there aren't any provided as advertised on our website, but if you forgot to bring something, just ask at reception, and we''l be able to help you out. Our wifi can be a bit sketchy during peak times, we've advertised that too. We will certainly investigate the wet floors- that's not ideal.”
Super nice campsite, but unfortunately I couldn’t find the Clean water mark at Dump Station, and the water pipes were frozen.
“Pleased you enjoyed your stay. Freshwater taps are located at most camping sites within the Holiday Park.”
Super beautiful campsite, but I can’t find clean water markers at Dump Station

Staff not so friendly, close to the Tekapo Springs and city centre. Showers had no curtain and shower head was quite low
Great spot to be close to the lake and Mt John however, for the price it’s very far away from town. Facilities aren’t good compared to many other parks. Charge up prior and opt for a free site at Lake Pukaki (30 minute drive).
Do not come here, if there is any snow event or storm, they leave you cancelled without notice…
The site itself and the facilities were great. Unfortunately we came in June and there was bad weather with snowfall. We were told by staff that if the roads were too dangerous to traverse that we and anyone else would be allowed to stay longer. The next day they changed their minds because the roads opened for 10 minutes (and shut down again). When we asked what they expected us to do since there was no where else to go, they said it’s not their problem. No morality, just profits
No real alternatives here but a large campsite with plenty happening. Currently under construction (June 2026) Great views of the lake with a standard site. Can be a long walk to amenities when busy. Good wifi and clean site with walkway down to the lake. Plenty of rabbits and ducks around.
Expensive place, at this price the laundry and dryer are still chargeable. There’s good views, but only will be here once just for the experience. Toilet is clean but I’ve seen better toilet, kitchen and some are with “ living room” at half the price or lesser.
