So perfect ! Great for traveling to Milford sound early in the morning. Quiet spots and flat ground , perfect for the camper ! The facilities were all brand new and honestly the best we have had travelling around NZ! Showers were boiling and amazing pressure, so clean and so many! Everywhere was kept lovely and warm with heat pumps! Kitchens and new laundry area with tvs , were really good too. Also was the sweetest little cat hanging around too that was sleeping on the sofas! Loved it all!
Great convenient spot with plenty of room and clean amenities
Great location and outlook. Amenities were great and super clean. Arrived just before after-hours checkin time to be greeted by friendly and helpful staff who I’m sure would have been wanting to get home, but took the time to ensure we were looked after.
great spot with lots of space for non-powered sites, it’s a pick-your-own situation! I recommend up at the top left on the hill for the most privacy. Great bathrooms & clean hot showers. Walk in for 1 person with a small van was $40 which I thought was reasonable given the facilities. About 20 min walk to town
Expensive for what it is. Not much freedom camping around so alright for the one night. We didn’t prebook we just turned up and payed then and there. Showers, tap water, dump station, signal. Facilities can become crowded in peak times.
Very little Freedom camping in Te Anau. This campsite was exceptional, great views of the lake. Clean with great facilities, showers, laundry and cooking. Mens shower did run cold, but just went to the next block. Good wifi. Very convenient for town, being a short walk.
We were worried given the previous reviews, but the showers we used had hot water even at 9 pm and there were bins. While there weren't any bins in the kitchens, they were right next to the building. The Wi-Fi wasn't working, but the site was extremely crowded.
It’s okay here but we did not like this place much. Cold Shower, no hairdryer in the men Bathroom, no rubbish bins in the kitchen and in the bathroom… things you can live with, but for over 80$ a night I would expect more.
Expensive for the location. Very crowded and therefore noisy. Toilets and showers were clean after being cleaned in the early afternoon, but quickly soiled again by inconsiderate guests. Vomit in the showers, feces on the floor in the morning. Booked because there are no free campsites in the area. However, there is a free camping area on the road between Te Anau and Milford Sound.
A very nice, well-maintained campsite. Right on the lake (just across the road). The kitchen was very clean, as were the sanitary facilities. The only "downside" was that the showers were free, which meant the women's shower was so humid and steamy that I couldn't see anything without my glasses. It was a bit more expensive, but it was worth the money. We've often paid less and received less service.
