Tha path is great and quite steep but there are no parking spaces on the Lyttelton side. I would reccomend you park your car on the other side of the hill, near the Gondola. The official start is from that side.
Great view. The way up is very steep. Can be made alternatively with the gondola.
Lovely walk, we went up the unofficial way next to the pipe line. Awesome views at the top!
Do not climb to the top of the road as the GPS tells you. We had to go down at the back, we could not go back.
We joined up with the Crater Rim trail rather that going down into Littleton and were happy we did so! Felt nice to get a sweat in and enjoy views of the city, port, and grassy rock cliffs.
Wow! In good weather, you can enjoy an amazing view. Many sheep are also encountered. The climb can be done in about 35 minutes :)
Do it absolutely if you go to littletown. To find the beginning go to the information center they are super nice. The beginning of the walk is quite steep but you will be rewarded with the view of the banks peninsula. You arrive at the end on gondola they publish it in christchurch but I prefer to walk than to pay 20 dollars ....
Really steep walk to a great lookout! Sadly the earthquake destroyed the Castle Rock, so now it's just a rock...
Very very steep, but worth it. Great lookout :-)
Steep track to the summit but the view on both the harbour and Christchurch definitely worth it. Takes about 40 minutes to get to the top
