Good little set up with decent amenities for the price. Neil a wonderful bloke with meticulous tracking book. If you want to contact ahead of time the phone number is in the Waipukurau White Pages- useful as the campsite can be full at busy times.
After two nights at the freedom camp we moved down and had a night at the camping ground. We absolutely loved it. We were near the boat ramp and enjoyed watching the comings and goings. Neil was very friendly and helpful. It was $40 for the night but the money is used to improve the area and we were happy to pay it. Looking forward to going back after the summer peak.
Great little campground, fees of $40 per night worth it. The money goes to supporting the community projects like planting the hillsides. Neil was a super friendly camp host, full of information. Great beach for swimming. The estuary was fun to paddle board up at high tide. Lovely little walk to a waterfall.
Perfect spot to enjoy peace and quiet on the remote East coast. Very small and basic but camp host Neil was so friendly and helpful. I was there two days after the cyclone.
Donc abordable avec accès cuisine, machine à laver et étendoir extérieur. Il faut payer pour une douche chaude. Le gérant est très gentil et arrangeant. La plage et les petites randonnées sont top! On a pu construire notre cabane naturelle sur la plage !
Stunning spot overlooking ocean & river. Friendly camp manager and good facilities. Spacious sites as apposed to fc up the road packed liked sardines & it’s only early October.
