Firstly, we’ll done to the Lions for supporting this great little track. Recommended parking for larger vehicles is across the River next to sports grandstand. It’s an extra six minutes walk. It took us 31 mins from park up to the top.
Really nice, worth it! It took us about 45 min with pictures and enjoying ;-)
Nice little track
Not really special but a nice walk in to the forest and hearing the sounds of singing birds.
Nice little walk but nothing more, as number of tracks in NZ, it leads to nothing or not much. If you were hoping for a 360 on the Tongariro and taranaki, stop on the road from Lake Taupo.
Took abt 45 mins for me to go up and down, nice but not mindblwing short walk in the bush.
Our 5 year old could do it but it is steep and takes a while. The view at the top is okay but I think the birds and trees in the jungle was the high point - lots of birds and one even tracked us down watching us for 10 minutes or so!
Great trip. Absolutely no typicall touristic track (I think I even saw nice locals here). We wanted to take a different way back and arrived at a cattle paddock. So you better take the same way back.
This is a gorgeous short walk through a shady djungle-like forest. We were lucky and saw an owl and were able to observe it for quite a while - that was unique.
