A DOC reserve, but no signage to suggest camping is allowed here. A search online gives no indication it is a permitted site to camp either. Last 200m or so of drive in is somewhat overgrown, be prepared to have overhanging plants scrape sides of your vehicle.

A really lovely spot for freedom camping, quiet, and just one other small camper Our motorhome is 7.5mts and we had no trouble at accessing or parking up One toilet on site, non-flush and spotlessly clean The short walk through the forest is beautiful....... Hundreds of huge tree ferns and an awesome collection of magnificent trees Lots of birdsongs although we only spotted the fan tails....... Got some great shots All in all well worth coming off the main roads

Huge space, no one around! Perfectly fine for large vehicles when we came through. Ground hard enough in summer but looks like it could get boggy after decent rain. Short 15min loop walk in bush is nice.

Lovely quiet spot . Drive in freshly graded . Locals have been in and ripped up the grass . The walk is a sad reminder of the destruction of the native bushland for farming . (yes we do need to eat , )

Great place for an overnight park on a large grass area and a usable toilet, unsealed road for 3km but very well graded!

My 7 metre motorhome made it in easily-the trees over the entrance way are about a metre higher. The best stands of huge rimu trees I’ve ever seen and tuis everywhere-a great spot.

Very nice and quiet place. Clean outhouse. The loop track was a very nice track that only took me about 25min to walk both ways.

Lovely and quite, really well sheltered, plenty of room but some lowish hanging branches through the entrance, fine for caravan

Excellent sheltered bush reserve for a night. It's off the main route 7km but worth the detour to hear the birds and be otherwise be so peaceful.
