Great spot! We had no problem in the parking lot. 3 min walk to the waterfall, great swimming hole with lots of people swimming, but water is pretty cold! So just jump right in!

1km walk to see the kauris

Beware of distrustful locals who lurk in the car park here. We parked to see the kauri grove, when walking out of the carpark a seedy guy in a white rundown 4WD pulled up saying we parked on “private property” and it was “his carpark” and we need to pay him $5 to park there. He got aggressive when we refused, we felt unsafe so we got back into our car and left. This experience left a bad taste in our mouth and we won’t be returning to 309 road.

Kauri trees are pretty cool and it's nice for a small stretch of your legs. BUT BEWARE, there were again some remainings of smashed car windows on the ground.. Apparently to one guy there it happened sometime in the morning

Please read this!!!!! This place is wonderful and earns 5 of 5☆ but there was one problem! There is a shield and it said: the 3 different tours. But the 2 hour walk is deadly!! Don't go there trust me and my girlfriend we walked 3 hours for the half way and the retour.
