Just got through last couple of corners in my 7.35m Motorhome. Amazing to realise the tunnel was made with picks and shovels!!! Can turn around at the end, as cars park over to the side. Portaloo toilet at the entrance of the tunnel. Well worth the drive!!!
It's worth it to drive around and bend all the way
We arrived on low tide, both drive in and through the tunnel was stunning and well worth the detour. Bring your rod, You're bound to catch lunch, dinner and supper. Would recommend swimming to your right of the tunnel; more sand, less rocks super warm with steady waves.
As others have said, it's well worth the detour to get here. Toilets have been reinstated - the usual non flush type you find in these remote areas. Would suggest you BYO tpaper though.
Beautiful beach. I wouldn't go swimming here
We drove to tunnel in 7.5 metre motorhome. One very tight corner but managed to get around it just. Room to turn in carpark at tunnel if not many others parked there. Wouldn't like to meet anyone driving the opposite way. We stayed overnight.
Magical place!!
Nice place. With lonely beach. What a work to dig this tunnel manually. There is a new toilet next to tunnel entry.
Really interesting history and detour out to this 1911 stock tunnel and beach. Last part of road very narrow but manageable in our 6m camper. Car park fine for turning as no one else there.
Small tunnel leading to a beautiful black sand beach surrounded by cliffs! Worth the detour :)
