Unfortunately we were very disappointed. The sanitary facilities were not clean and the pool was closed. At $70, way too expensive for such a service. The lady at the reception was very friendly.
I actually really liked this park. Our site slopes down and backed onto the road, but that didn’t hurt my sleep at all. Might have to be a bit careful about choosing sites if you have something like a campervan which is harder to level. Great location and you can visit the lake and the beach. Wifi is fantastic!
I’ve been visiting Tiona since I was very young. I am now 48. I’ve seen the park go through many changes over the years. From when it was owned by the church to Sundowner. And the more recent owners. Some good some bad. I also was married there in 2006. Hence the place is special to me. Returning from there today I am happy to say that the new staff are friendly and the grounds and facilities are being upgraded and cared for properly again. Don’t expect a 5 star resort and you won’t be disappointed. The beach and lake are beautiful and are only a short walk from the camp ground. Rates for sites are now reasonable again.
This place is under new management. Really nice campground. Friendly guys working there, had a good chat. Good facilities.
Old & messy campground. To get to from the campground to the amenities at night was like a night hike because it was pitch black and no lights anywhere. Bathroom looked like in the 1950’s... Only positive was the friendly staff and the nice scenery... 29$ for a Camper Van and two persons per night. Wouldn’t recommend this spot.
Yesterday we stayed for one night at this camping at the lake side. There the camping has a Conference Center. In the Conference Center was a wedding with live music outside. It was like going to a pop concert. An awful lot of noice. It lasted until 23:20 hours. Most campings have a policy to limit noice, but this camping not. Complaints were not welcome
I called in today and spoke with Karen in the office and it seems this place is open but the office is closed Monday and Tuesday. The ocean side is preferred and the amenities are better there she said. $37 a night to camp for 1 person? ?? It is nice scenery there for sure and close to both beach and lake.
