Holy s#!t the spiders
A very pretty site, perfect for self-sufficient camping (no toilets on site). Lots of birds, and we heard dingoes during the night. Lots of mosquitoes!
A lot of caravans in May 2024. but lots of space and great for birdwatching. A large fence has been erected with gates but still open for self contained vehicles, gets very boggy after rain, check first.
We stayed last night with about 60 other vans 😂 highly recommend driving the 1km gravel track to the second billabong-loads of space and less people
This place has been closed due to cultural heritage reasons, unfortunately some people aren't respecting that, all information can be found on the camooweal council website
Beautiful spot - so many birds! Water views, quiet, peaceful and lots of space to walk and cycle. Great stop over for a night - reccomend.

My GPS took me to a different spot . I stayed 200 meters from the bridge with a dozen other vans Telstra 4G works well JW
Nice spot, al lot of space, shadow. We had diner in the hotel in Camooweal, a wonderful vegetarian meal with lentils, beans, rice and naan. Friendly staf, they even made a vegetarian pizza.
