Great place to stay! Loads of grass space for tents and a nice 5k loop around the creek. Just be aware, there's quite a lot of bikers coming through which can be a bit noisy.
Great spot for camping, fireplace, walking, families. Has toilets. Clean. Plenty of seats. Free. Close to Melbourne. No water taps so bring your own. It’s sad to see what’s left from the bushfires down near the creek but it’s wonderful when you do the 5K walking up the hills.
In contrast to its name there is no disappointment to be had here! As one young English chap pointed out it the morning we were in “proper nature” only a hour outside of Melbourne itself! The stars we almost as staggering as our fellow camps but good cheer was found in the camping ground! Long drops as always with a surprisingly rustic feel this time! Parking was cramped on the long weekend but there was ample room for a two person tent!
Great place, big enough so you have privacy as other campers don't have to stay too close. Beautiful view from the top of one of the bike tracks (going up after the toilets). The noise from the motorcycles start early though, which makes it hard to sleep in. Toilets were clean, and not smelly at all. Easy access to the camping ground,, but not many parking spots. It's quite a popular place. I went there when the weather wasn't great but there were quite a big number of people.
Nice and peaceful campground. (at least when we came!) No toilet paper here, called the rangers to cater for and clean the toilets. Water is not available and creek wasnt flowing either. There are barracades in the campsite to stop people driving in and potentially run over someone in their tent. You must be self sufficient coming here. Take rubbish with you.
Road in isn’t the best but it’s ok for a van. There are two small areas to park and loads of space to camp. Plunge toilets were in poor condition. Picnic tables were in good condition. No water and no sinks and no bins. Also no phone signal. Not much tracks to explore but we saw wallabies and possums. Was fine for one night - JoVo
Not really suited to big rigs.. Road in is not so good and the area is fenced off with a small turning circle and no parking for car and van.. More suites to tents and campervan.. And yes do not go further than th camp area with toilets.
Actually a very nice place! Unfortunately a group with loud music. Bad timing, i think. Could not find the water fountain.
Nice peaceful campsite. Stayed on a Sunday evening and it was very pleasant. Note: we rode in by bike from the South west and the gravel roads are quite steep and not suited to road bikes. The road leading in from the North side much better.
Gravel/dirt road to the campsite, a lot of grass area for tents, 10 cars parking, 10 picnics tables with a fire's place. Two drop toilets (bring your own toilets paper), no rubbish bins (so take your rubbish). Good spot to see kangourous wombats and birds.
