There's excellent parking behind the gas station. Great for an overnight stay. Restrooms and fast food are open 24 hours.

Very good stop over place with easy conveniences. Clean toilets open 24 hours. Little noisy because of train & highway traffic. Very well lit & safe as many cctv cameras around that area.

A lot of meals for takeaway, showers are for truckers only, toilets relativly clean, good for one night

Not necessarily bad, but not great. Busy area, very lit all night but doesn’t really bother us. The rest area is pretty much right next to the drive thru so pretty noisy and busy with not much seclusion. The good point though - it’s a 5 minute drive to Wallan. Free parking there, and a 30 minute train journey to Melbourne. So, good for a day trip to Melbourne. Overall, not bad - not great. More handy than anything else.

Compared to the rest area next to the caltex parking area gas station, I think there are more restaurants with more lights and toilets here. It was noisy but okay for a night to sleep. Free wifi at mccas but no way to get in to the shower, it’s locked and truckers only. We asked for it in the night and morning

Stayed here last night! Extremely noisy and usually Highway rest stops dont bother us at all! Also the shower is a no go! Used for truckers only!

Great overnight stay if you are combining it with Wallan Village just a couple of minutes away. Hedfield Park in Wallan offers free BBQs, shaded picnic tables, drinking water from tap and clean public toilets. Shoppingwise Wallan offers Coles and Woolworth. Wallan offers a train station with 1 hour drive to Southern Cross in Melbourne as well..! So go ahead and spend the day in Wallan and come back to the Great Divide Rest Area for the night.

Just behind a BP, the lights are on the whole night but we had no trouble sleeping. There are showers but just for truckies, you can ask anyway during the morning, sometimes they allow you to use them. Plenty of fast food around if needed.
