Nice little walk. The waterfall was was stunning and the water very refreshing.

We did the path to the waterfall and it was lovely. Glad we asked around as almost ended up on the other path to the lookout who chu we heard is lovely. Waterfall is tiny and water is freezing but it is refreshing after the hike in on a hot day. Just over an hour hike in and then an hour back.

Great walk in a beautiful forest with a beautiful view at the top. It's a little stiff sometimes but is still easy even for casual walkers

You can see Mt Ruapehu from the top of the hill on a clear day. That loop to the summit takes about 40 minutes, and to the waterfall and back it's another hour at least.

A path to the mountain, the other to the waterfall. To do both, count 3:30 walk in total. Recommended walking shoes. Both are pretty and worth it!

Totally beautiful, the walk is absolutely worth it! It took us about 80 minutes to get to the waterfall. The track goes up and down, so wear firm shoes! We were alone at the waterfall and even bathed in it (nice and cold).

Definitely worth a stop on your way to Tauranga! Type in "Mountain road" in your navi, you'll pass a yellow sign pointing towards otanewainuku. Keep driving until you see the car park for it. 90 min amazing trek deep into the rainforest. The waterfall is very rewarding! I feel revitalised (and hungry! Bring food and water!). Didn't spot any Kiwis :-P but there were so many other birds around! There are heaps more treks here: some 3,4 and even 8 hours! Could spend the day here but we didn't start the hike until 4pm!
