Please beware when getting in this area. It was super early in the morning when I started hearing a man moaning and stammering. When I came out my van for a pee, I saw the man standing right in front of my van his eyes making straight contact. I didn't think twice and jumped straight to the van to drive away as fast as I could. I didn't stay long enough to know whether he was harmless or not nor did I have interest to find out to be honest. So please mind your belongings as well as yourselves.
We came here at night as we normally do with our campervan. There was one other van parked. Long drop toilet, smelly but I think it was because the lid was open. We did a beautiful mini hike in the am to the waterfall and back. Highly recommended place to stay. Maximum 3 SC vans overnight though
Great spot right next to the start of the hike to see the waterfalls. I highly recommend it!
Below comments are quite old to still suggest this is an unsafe spot. We spent one night alongside 3 other vans and it was great. Perfectly peaceful with only the sound of Owls at night. No rowdy cars, nobody made us feel uneasy or unsafe. There is one toilet which had toilet roll and hand gel, plus a bin in the car park. Cars also park here to go see the waterfall with cars coming and going until 8pm and from 7am in the morning. Phone signal a bit patchy but ok.
We stayed for one night. We where the only once there and we didn't feel safe, there where cars pulling up in the middle of the night, leaving again and coming back 4 hours later. People staying in the car watching ours. We left really like early as the same car came back again. Wouldn't advise going there alone. Otherwise the place seems nice.
We spent two nights here, both of them were pretty quiet. The toilet smells disgusting but it was okay otherwise. In the morning lots of people come to see the falls so if you'd prefer some privacy in the morning it's best to leave early. We didn't have any problems with any break ins nor did we meet any suspicious people. Still best to lock up and maybe hold onto your belongingz just incase. Otherwise a really lovely spot!
Stayed there for a day and night. We felt uneasy because of the previous comments about robberies but nothing has happen and we really enjoyed our stay there
Stayed there for the night, however morning time was given a very serious warning by local dog owner, do not leave a vehicle as that parking have extremely high numbers of break downs into camp vehicles. She said that it is not safe at all to leave the vehicle even for 10 min. She said that she walk her dog on a trail every day and see people loosing their belongings at least few times a week on a regular basis.Be Careful!
Beautiful area with clean drop toilet- very grateful for the free spot! However I just thought I should warn anyone staying overnight we had two cars pull in late racing and stopping very close to our van trying to intimidate us. I think it was probably just teens messing about but we didn’t feel safe. ( we where the only ones there for the better part of the evening). Spent the morning making friends with the roosters though. :)
Beautiful spot, and the waterfalls are amazing. We were the only ones here as well. No problems with break in, but there is a farm nearby with roosters crowing all morning. When we began to cook, there were 5 roosters outside the van trying to steal food. The road to get there is pretty windy and narrow. We drove our 7m campervan there, it was a bit of a challenge but we made it. Reccomend small vans only!
