Called to make a booking . Not answering with any name of a camp site just “hello” ... Got passed on to someone else ... And was told “we don’t open, usually until around Christmas time”
Gate closed. No response.
We arrived around 7pm and had to trek to the nearest ATM because they were cash only. The people running it were really welcoming and chatty. Once we were in there was lots of space however we were the only ones so didn’t get the best vibe. The showers had lots of cobwebs and seemed a little like a ghost town. All in all, was fine. Overpriced for what we got.
In itself a really nice place, but a bit getting old. A new coat of paint would not hurt, but everything is extremely clean. There are many animals there like cats, dogs, ponies ... quite expensive (18 NZD / person unpowered site), but shower costs nothing extra. Nevertheless, I would have wished for the price still WiFi. We were the only ones on the unpowered area.
Very good camping very friendly staff you pass tokens for the shower and we were the only ones in the camp against the electricity rame for the campsites because but otherwise very good camping
Very nice peaceful campsite, lovely friendly staff, kitchen, dinning area and bathrooms are made of old fashioned concrete blocks which has nice countryside feel to it. One of men's shower didn't work and swallowed the token so had to take cold shower in the other one, would be nice at least to put a sign it is broken. In the way out staff keep saying "drive at walking speed", just put a speed limit i guess walking speed is about 5kmph. Overall a nice place but would benefit from a little maintenance.
Hi people, it is a nice Place.I got a free coin for the shower. And I payed only 10 Dollars! They have a kitchen with dishes and seats for eating!
October 9 gate was locked up. Maybe closed for the season? Looked like a cute little area anyway.
Really lovely owners (they gave us extra blankets and sleeping bags, that we don't have to freeze), hot shower and a well provided kitchen. We spent only one night, but we can imagine to stay a time in the summer, would be lovely. We can definitely recommend this place.
Very very cool to have a lake to play on
