This is a great Freedom camping spot. With space for roughly 13 vehicles overnight. A well maintained toilet and stream next to the site. Definitely recommend it.
Very good place, as a solo traveler I felt save there, toilets were ok, with light at night, the parking spot also has light at night which helped me feel safer.
Very good for one nightVery quietToilets without light at nightFree hot showers at the town pool
Very good site if you are, like us, a self-contained van who wants access to (clean) toilets and a water point (toilet tap, no fountain). Powered site is possible but not used because there is no need, check with the tourist office.
We spent one night at this camp, very pleasant, we felt safe, I recommend. The floor lamp is a plus for cooking!
Very relaxed place, toilets were clean but no lights. Very nice for a walk along the river. Sewage station was also great, the fresh water is just a bit hidden.
Nice and quiet yet close to civilisation on edge of town. By river water, big trees and grassy playing area. Toilets and free power. Need to get key for power boxes from Information centre other side of town by Prideaux Place before it closes at 16.00 weekdays and 14.00 on Weekends!
Not sure where this place is as it seems to be called Firmin Lodge on other websites, and this I assume is where I am camped tonight. Lot's of local activity some of which is not too friendly but looks to be a nice place so am going to tough it out and see what happens. Two other nsc parked a few slots away so we may well have safety in numbers.
Good site on the edge of town. Access to toilets at night but no lights in the toilet. Patched gang member hanging around just before dark. We parked under the street lights and felt somewhat safe.
The best free campsite! Toilet is open during the night. Dump station and drinking water. A lot of space. Thanks Kawerau!!
