Cute and quiet campsite and cabins away from the noise and lights of town. Facilities were exceptionally clean and tidy, despite not being very modern. Only a small number of sites with limited lighting. So nice and quiet. If you want a packed in, busy and lit up campsite don't come here. We had the campsite to ourselves in early May. Looked like lots of work has been recently done on the facilities, newly painted, very new fridge in kitchen, so older reviews may not be accurate.

Pretty fine campsite for a cheap overnight stay in Hanmer. Lady at reception was lovely and introduced us to her very cute dog ☺️ campsite itself was extremely dark and a little creepy, couldn't navigate it without a torchlight and kept getting a bit lost/freaked out. Toilets good, no payment for shower as other campers have said, cheap washing but requires $2 coin.

Great! Awesome stop over for non-self contained/camping $20 for the night which includes kitchen facilities (minus pots pans etc) as get stolen but has microwave fridge freezer etc for use, boiling water, free hot showers, toilets and even laundry wash and dry for only $4!

After 40 days in camper van , this place charged us double than any other holiday park in the south island, one adult and 4 children ,the lady insisted I had to pay for two adults at $25 each and 20$ each for other three children, ....she said she would give me a great site for kids, it was on the road of entrance to camp where most of the traffic was .....kitchen had and old oven ,one microwave and really small fridge and freezer (to accommodate at least 80 sites)..... Had no drinkable water and no facilities to boil water as Billie was disconnected and no kettle available ....offered us 2 bottles of water for a family of 5.....loads of nasty signs that they would confiscate your phone if you plugged into certain electric outlets ....old equipment ,back dated toilets and showers (which is fine ,if the price ok.... But they charged more the holiday 10 in town, which is a prestige location )....avoided this place , there are two alpine campgrounds in Hamner springs .....the other one out pasted the hardware store shared us 60$ ...has a pool, two play rooms for kids, bike and cart rentals and two very helpful staff.

What a lovely place. Quiet, slightly older accommodation but neat. Very friendly welcome! 10 minutes walk to the entrance of the forest. Half an hour on foot to the center with the spa.

New owners here and they’re really friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful spot and facilities are basic but clean, campers not jammed in. Would definitely stay here again.

You get what you pay for, which is not much, in both respects. Stayed new years eve and the toilet/kitchen facilities were inadequate for the number of campers. Would come back, but only in off-season when quieter

Super friendly and very lovely owners. Amenities were slightly dated but spotlessly clean and functional. Very much enjoyed our stay

If I wanted a cold shower, to cook at my van (because the kitchen is too small and overcrowded), to use my chilly bin (bc the one fridge is full), and no electricity to charge anything, I would have stayed at one of the free campsites. Unpowered section desperately needs its own kitchen and bathroom. Everyone in the kitchen was complaining.
