Stayed here for one night, 27Apr26. Beautiful spot and large campground. Appears to be run by a local trust and they do a great job of caring for it. Basic long drop toilets and sinks for washing up dishes. No sandflys. Lots of space to camp and lovely views. Great camp location!
Decent spot in a parking lot next to the lake. Bathrooms are clean enough, though nothing to write home about. Very quiet throughout the evening. There were some people spending the night in tents and some others that looked like they were there for the season. It's a nice location a bit away from Lake Tekapo.
Lovely quiet camping spot, amazing views towards the lake and mountains on a clear evening. Plenty of spaces 8pm
For having to pay $15pp for this place it leaves a lot to be desired. No amenities provided other than a drop toilet and a picnic bench. Unfortunately there aren't lots of other options available near lake Tekapo. It is however a nice serene spot.
Pretty surroundings with a busy duck pond, so a good budget place to stop off if you're near Tekapo. They take payment in cash in an honesty box or bank transfer (+fee). The toilets are drop toilets and you must bring your own toilet paper (!!). It advertises a kitchen bench, but this is pretty much an old table next to the toilets... so wouldn't recommend. Saying all of this to manage people's expectations.
What a sweet peaceful spot, very quiet, lovely skies, great bird life, nice walks, reasonable facilities, very happy we stayed there.
Not many options in Tekapo, only basic facilities, used to have shower things somehow it was all gone. Only rain water not suitable for drink, lake view with many long-term stay trailers
$15 a night per person, payment via honesty box - cash only. Restrooms are good and place to wash dishes. Can arrive whenever, space available. No sandflies. No phone signal.
A beautiful spot, costs $15 per person. Toilets were clean but remember to take your bog roll. There is a tiny hidden stream that provides night noise to ease you to sleep and the SKY! Oh, wow. You have GOT to view the sky at night.
It was a standard site cheap, no booking, very chill, good place to stop. Highly recommend its hard to find but google maps is preferred
