The only positive aspects were the view and the Wi-Fi (only near the reception). No phone reception. The women's restroom is locked. The squat toilet in the men's restroom is broken, both toilets are full of shit (because you can't flush them), and there's no water from the faucets. Paying $15 per person for non-functioning toilets is too much. Better go to another campsite further ahead...

Enjoyed a peaceful night here in our self contained vehicle. Very grateful we didn’t need to use the coin operated shower nor toilet provided! Great views for $15 per person, complete the visitors book & pay as the owner does do regular visits! There’s a great cafe on the road towards Hicks Bay with good coffee, food and East Coast hospitality!

Unfortunately, it is not mentioned anywhere that the access to the campsite only consists of an unpaved road. Driving on such roads with a Maui rental camper is prohibited. Therefore we couldn't visit the easternmost campsite in New Zealand. We are disappointed!

Beautiful view of the sea and herd of cows. Unfortunately, toilets were not clean. The grill, for which you had to pay 2 NSD, didn't work.

Incredible views. The road to access was fine. The facilities looked modest but expected for such an isolated place. We did not stay as we needed a place with phone service

There is no internet connection at all but they have WiFi here, i would love to pay $15 for a stable WiFi connection. Facilities are not too bad, 2 x 1 dollar coin for 4 mins shower. Need to boil water before drinking.

If you are looking for windswept & remote, this site will be up your alley. At $35 for 1 night for 1 adult & 1 child the fees far outweighed the facilities, having to pay for a shower. The lighthouse was not accessible.

Beautiful quiet spot far away from everyone. Feels very safe as a solo female traveller. Great if you want to go and see the lighthouse but that was closed for repairs while I was here. You need $1 coins for the showers and there’s nowhere to get cash out. Very clear night sky’s with no light pollution.

Awesome spot. No problems with the road out and the facilities were basic but all we needed. Epic views and ocean swims
