Great spot - but at a flat $40 for an unpowered site not low cost for a single traveller
What a lovely place to stay. We were greeted by the custodian (Henry) who explained everything that we needed to know including the marine reserve. Although dated, the toilets/showers/kitchen are all very adequate and clean. Camp grounds are very tidy. It felt like I had stepped back in time. Being a small camp there is only a certain amount of spaces available so it’s pretty quiet all round. If you are after some peace n quiet I would throughly recommend.
Very friendly and helpful custodian. Clean toilets and showers, great value for per van per night(2 people)
Great place to stay, fantastic snorkeling near the campsite. Very friendly camp managers, make sure you chat to them about the best place to snorkel. Clean toilet and showers. Full signal (vodafone)
Went to investigate without caravan. Entrance to camp is through a weir to get In to grounds. Very tight. Might have got in with 6.2 caravan but it would difficult getting out of. Lovely spot. Public clean toilets well maintained are shared with camp ground
Super nice the man in the square and also very helpful. The showers and toilets were very clean. We only wanted to cook with our own dishes, but what is there is enough. The place is very clean and the beach is only a short walk. If you are looking for peace and happy for yourself, this is the place for you. ?
Ok place. Showers & toilets clean. So called kitchen is a room with fridges & freezers (2 of each) but no cooking facilities and lots of mouse droppings in the tatty drawers. Road from Waipawa is sealed so that was good. Place is used by absentee owners with 3 powered sites only. Lovely beach. No telly or phone coverage. Custodian was very helpful. $25 a night for 2 of us. Showers $1 for about 8 mins. Need to get token from custodian.
Showers (only with token), Kitchen, Laundry, Power points (only a few spots). When we arrived, nobody was there we just took a spot.
Fantastic hot showers quiet very nice custodians ?
Ok for a night mainly permanent caravans which we were pitched between 2 - seaview sandy beach and marine reserve. Token from warden for showers no telephone service, no dump station. I don't think they have many tourers visit !
