A really nice easy going walk, about 14 km return. We did it at low tide which is a must if you want to be able to get to the lighthouse
Walking access (on the beach) only! read the description. It’s about 4 hours return if you walk and stop to check out the seashells and rocks along the way. Make sure you go on a falling tide; I went too close to high tide and turned around before the actual lighthouse because the water was up at the bank’s edge in places.
I found that there is no access to the lighthouse anymore.
No access.
Very nice beach walk. Lighthouse was very nice too, very windy at top ? but nice views and there is even a surprise at the end. Just do the walk and you will know what I mean.
Access only from the beach. Start from the Doc Campground, you will need 3-4 hours return by foot, but it is worth it.
Road closed. Access must be from the beach on foot
People you can only walk to the lighthouse !! The way is private.
Great walk ! 4h. You can walk on the beach all the hike. Wait for 2h after high tide. We only waited 1h after high tide and we had to do a small part in the water (but there is a way to climb a bit to avoid that)
Park in the parking lot of the beach. We asked to borrow the "private road" that goes directly to the lighthouse, to New Zealanders, and it really is not possible. 3h return trip with an average rhythm. Be careful of the tides. Nice walk along the beach and nice lighthouse but not impressive.
